What will 2018 Bring for Altered Aesthetics?

As 2018 fast approaches us, it is a great time to reflect on 2017.

For me, 2017 brought a ton of new, challenging and amazing changes. The biggest one is the opening of Altered Aesthetics in August 2017. For years, I have wanted to go outside my comfortable desk job (I did once before when I decided to go to Empire Academy of Makeup in Orange County but the desk job overtook the ability to do that full time) and dive into the world of beauty and I am so glad that I was able to this this year with cosmetic tattooing.

When I decided in early 2017 to begin a journey into permanent makeup I did not take it lightly. Prior to my four-day course in microblading and micropigmentation I found myself diving headfirst into this new world. My endless google searches on microblading, micropigmentation, state requirements, top artists, techniques and continual education made it impossible for me to think about anything else.

I have never been one to do something at less than 100% and microblading was no exception. Once my initial training was completed I knew I needed to put my foot on the pedal and GO, and go I did. I secured a studio with Salon Lofts, started creating my website and of course, started working on clients.

Altered Aesthetics officially opened on August 3 in the Salon Lofts location at the Falls of Neuse Olive Park Shopping Center. I cannot say how grateful I am for all of the people that I have met since I began this journey and started my business. From the amazing ladies at Everlasting Brows (Jenn Boyd) to the talented stylists at Salon Lofts to each and every person who scheduled an appointment with me and trusted me with their brows, each and every person has made a lasting impression on me.

There is no better feeling than being able to do something you love and 2018 will be even better for myself and Altered Aesthetics. One of the key focuses in 2018 will be education and training courses, which will allow me to offer additional services at Altered Aesthetics. I am so excited to be able to offer my clients the most cutting edge offerings in the world of permanent makeup and I only see this industry getting better as each year passes.

Thank you to all of my clients, all of the inspiring fellow artists around the world and a big thank you to my family, who pushes me and believes in me 100%

See you in 2018!
