Microblading Session Part 3: Microblading!

  • Perfect, symmetrical brows mapped! - Check
  • Numbed and feeling nothing! – Check
  • Microblading Begins! - Now for the fun part!

You have worked with your tech to create your dream brows that fit your face, your likes and are now going to make your life so much easier! What comes next? The one thing you have been eagerly waiting for…microblading! Yay! Hooray!! Woohoo!!

At Altered Aesthetics, we work on choosing your color while you are relaxing with and numbing. This allows us to talk with you about color choices, pigment choices, etc. When it comes time to remove the numbing cream we carefully take off your numbing cream so that we do not mess up the amazing brows we created during brow mapping.

The color(s) we chose during your numbing time will placed on your skin to ensure that we have chosen the color that works best for you. When all is approved and good to go, the microblading begins.

Each brow typically is given three passes during a session:

1st Pass – During the first pass we create what we call a skeleton outline. We will place enough strokes in the brows in order to outline the brow mapping we created. Once pigment is on your skin and is wiped off, so is that outline. By doing the skeleton outline, it ensures that your brows maintain the shape that we created and you approved. When the first pass is done, we will wipe the pigment we used into the brow area and put a small amount of Feel Better Now Gel in order to make you feel more comfortable during the second pass and to clot any bleeding that may have occurred.

2nd Pass -  During the second pass we begin to fill in the brows with strokes to match your brow hair pattern and to give you the full brows you’ve always wanted. The 2nd pass really is the final pass and our goal during the second pass is to create your brows 100%. As with the first pass, when we are done with the second pass, we will wipe the pigment we used into the brow area and put a small amount of Feel Better Now Gel in order to make you feel more comfortable during the third pass and to clot any bleeding that may have occurred.

3rd Pass – The last pass! Yay! Before we begin the third pass we will sit you up, review your brows from all angles and see if there are any spots that need some slight adjustments. Whether it be adding another stroked here or there, lengthening any strokes that seem too short, darkening any strokes that seem to light or if they are perfect, do nothing at all!!!

Once your brows are all done we will do on final pigment mask (coating pigment over the brows and strokes) and leave that on for 3-5 minutes. Once time is up, we clean your brows using water wipes first and then a small wipe with Green Soap to get any excess pigment off your brow area and face.

Now that we are finished microblading your brows and cleaned up your brows, we will take a few after pictures and then place a small layer of aftercare on your brows.

WOOHOO!!!! You have now been microbladed and will leave the studio with full, beautiful and natural brows that you will love more and more each day.

So, what comes next? You have been brow mapped, numbed and microbladed but aren’t done just yet! Seriously? I have to come back?

Yes, you do! In 4-6 weeks, you will come back for your perfecting session. Well, what is a perfecting session? That is an easy answer, come back in a few weeks and read all about what happens during your touch-up/perfecting session.
