Trusting the Process

As the popularity of permanent makeup (PMU) grows, so does the need to understand the process and the client's expectations.

There are many different types of PMU for brows. These include Microblading, Ombre Powder Brows, Combination Brows, and Nano Brows.

At Altered Aesthetics, we want to provide as much information (See our FAQs and Aftercare) as possible to our clients which will give them a better understanding of the PMU process. We want all of our clients to trust the process and manage their expectations.

Getting your brows dobe is a three-step process:

  1. Schedule a Consultation - During this time we will go over the specific PMU process that you are doing which includes; showing you the tools we use, pigments used, brow mapping process, certifications received, and before and after photos of previous clients. This is your chance to ask ANYTHING related to PMU.

  2. Initial Session - Your first session! Yay! During this time we will create your brows using our brow mapping method, numb your brows, choose a color and then perform the PMU session.

  3. Perfecting Session - This session comes 4-6 weeks after your initial session. We will review your brows from the first session, fill in any spots that may have fallen out and give the brows an overall perfecting touch. After your perfecting sessions, your brows should last 12-18 months, possibly longer depending on factors such as sun exposure, chemical peels, etc.

Knowledge is power and the more you know about the basics of PMU (Choosing an Artists, The Process, etc.), the easier it will be for you to choose a certified, experienced artist and get the brows you have always wanted.
